Xfinity router’s admin page is your command center for your home network. By logging in at 10.0.0.1, you can change your WiFi password, rename your network, create a guest WiFi, you can also change admin login password to secure your router and much more.

How to Log In to Your Xfinity Router
Follow these steps to access your admin settings:
- Connect your computer or phone to your Xfinity WiFi network.
- Open a Web Browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
- Enter the IP Address: Type http://10.0.0.1 into the browser’s address bar and press Enter.
- Enter Your Login Credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: password
- Click Log in.

Note: If your login doesn’t work, your credentials may have been changed. Use the factory reset instructions at the bottom of this page to restore defaults.
How to Change Your Xfinity WiFi Password and Name (SSID)
Here’s how to change it:
- Log in to the admin tool at 10.0.0.1.
- On the left-hand menu, navigate to Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi.
- Look for the “Private Wi-Fi Network” section.
- Click Edit next to the network you want to change.
- Enter your new:
- Network Name (SSID): Your WiFi’s new visible name.
- Password (Network Key): Create a strong, new password.
- Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. Your devices will disconnect and will need to reconnect using the new password.

How to Set Up a Xfinity Guest Network
A guest network keeps your main network secure while offering WiFi to visitors.
- From the left menu in your admin tool, go to Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi.
- Select the Guest Wi-Fi Network section.
- Click Edit.
- Toggle the “Enable Guest Network” option to On.
- Set a Network Name (SSID) and Password for your guests.
- Click Save Settings. Your guest network is now active.
Forgot Your Password? How to Reset Your Xfinity Router:
If you can’t log in, a factory reset will restore the original settings and default password.
Warning: This will erase all your custom settings, including your WiFi name and password.
- Locate the Reset button on the back or bottom of your router device.
- Press and hold the button for 15-30 seconds.
- Release the button when the lights start blinking and wait for the router to restart.
- You can now log in using the default username (admin) and password (password).
